Designing the labour services platform for a state of millions of workers.
Shramev Jayate is the Government of Chhattisgarh's Labour Department platform connecting workers to registration, schemes and benefits. Brandhero redesigned its website and mobile app experience for citizens of every digital literacy level. The portal was inaugurated by the Chief Minister in September 2025, with ₹2.06 crore transferred to workers through Direct Benefit Transfer on launch day.

OVERVIEW
Shramev Jayate is the Labour Department of Chhattisgarh's digital platform for worker registration, welfare schemes and benefit delivery, on web and mobile. Chhattisgarh's labour e-services have registered around 36 lakh workers, and the department's earlier e-Shramik service won a national e-governance Golden Award.
As expectations for digital services grew, the platform needed a modern, accessible interface. Brandhero redesigned both the website and mobile app under one visual system - cleaner, easier to navigate and still carrying the credibility of a government service.
The mission was simple:
Build a government platform any worker can use with confidence, whatever their digital literacy.

Mobile App UX/UI
Design System

MISSION BRIEF
For workers relying on government schemes, a confusing portal means missed registrations and benefits that never arrive. The old experience lacked visual consistency, navigation was difficult, information hierarchy was unclear, and the interface felt dated. The platform serves an audience with a wide range of digital literacy, often on mobile phones. The brief: modernise both web and app, improve accessibility, strengthen visual trust, and build a scalable system that can carry future government services.
The goal was to build a website that felt:
Accessible
Clear
Trustworthy
Modern
Easy to navigate

THE CHALLENGES
01
Designing for every citizen
Users range from first-time smartphone owners to officials. Services had to be simple for all of them.
02
Modern, but unmistakably official
The interface had to feel contemporary without losing the trust people expect from a government platform.
03
One experience across web and app
Citizens move between devices; the website and app needed one consistent visual language.
THE SOLUTION
01
Modern website and app
Cleaner layouts, clear visual hierarchy and simple journeys for the most common tasks
02
A unified design system
Reusable UI components shared across web and mobile, so every service looks and works the same way.
03
Accessibility-first interface
Navigation, content and interface elements structured so information is easy to find for every user.

KEY MOMENTS
We designed:

Consistent visual system

MISSION COMPLETE
A more modern government experience
Shramev Jayate shows how design can improve the way citizens reach public services. With one accessible design system across web and mobile, Brandhero helped make labour services easier to find and use for a workforce of around 36 lakh registered workers - on a platform that delivered ₹2.06 crore in direct benefits on its launch day.
Because the best government platforms don't just deliver services. They make those services easy for everyone to use.
